Group Piano 101 with Miss Erika (Grades 2-5, 6-8, 9-12)
Grades: 2-5, 6-8, 9-12<br>Every Week 5-5:30pm Mondays (2-5)<br>Every Week 5:30-6pm Tuesdays (6-8)<br>Every Week 6-6:30pm Tuesdays (9-12)<br><br>A fun and engaging class where we explore the fundamental skills to play the piano. We will begin with an introduction to the piano, identifying and labeling patterns, right and left hand, white and black keys, posture, and basic rhythm. We will then move into reading the first music notes on the white keys and playing music that uses these keys.<br><br>Prerequisites:<br>- No prior music experience necessary. <br>- Curiosity and interest in music a plus. <br>- Gross and fine motor skills needed to independently press piano keys. If students have fine or gross motor accommodations, I would recommend private lessons where I can provide those accommodations. <br>- Ability to work, virtually, in a small group experience, independently. <br>- Parental support welcome for those who need assistance to work virtually and/or in a small group.
Fundamentals of Music with Miss Erika (Grades 3-5)
Grades: 3-5<br>Every week 9-9:30am<br>Wednesdays<br>$5 per class session<br><br>A fun and creative class where we will explore the fundamental skills and components of music. We will learn about rhythm, the music staff and clef signs, music notes, dynamics, tempo, time signatures, and instrumentation from around the world. We will do all of this through playing, reading, and writing.<br><br>Prerequisites:<br>- No prior music experience necessary. <br>- Curiosity and interest in music a plus. <br>- Ability to use a pencil and write.<br>- Ability to work, virtually, in a small group experience, independently. <br>- Parental support welcome for those who need assistance to work virtually and/or in a small group.
Watercolor Basics with Miss Meaghan (Grade: any)
Every Week 1:15-1:45pm except July 16th August 1st<br>Wednesdays & Fridays<br>$5 per class session<br><br>a large-group format class playing with watercolor while learning the basics and getting comfortable. We’ll learn different techniques (like wet on wet and wet on dry), brushstrokes, and more while making fun artwork you can be proud of. Using our growing knowledge of watercolor supplies, we’ll learn to put these supplies to use, mix colors, make puddles, learn a bit of color theory with complementary colors, use chaos and order to create a piece all our own, use lights and darks in an order that helps us achieve a closer image to our desired result, lift paint, maintain white space, create shadows, learn brush technique, and more.<br><br>Approximate grade level: All beginning watercolorists, including adults. Take the class with your siblings and/or adults. <br><br>Prerequisites:<br>Able to hold a pencil and control it<br>Able to treat paintbrush safely (not scrubbing it into the page) by pulling it along the page<br>Able and willing to watch and listen to follow along with step-by-step instructions<br>Able to distinguish between shades of a color and different types of shapes<br>Interest in the arts or creativity
